About this product
Absolutely delicious! Firm, yet tender baby artichokes (with stem) perfectly seasoned with just a little vinegar – all you need to do is open the tin, drain away any excess oil, slice your artichoke in two and enjoy! The stem is delicious and crunchy.
We find it hard to find very good artichokes in oil – even the more expensive jarred varieties are often very average, and very expensive. Here, we have found superb quality at a very good price indeed for the quantity.
Although 1.1kg seems a lot (circa 12-13 artichokes), you will find yourself easily getting through these in under a week – and stored under the oil (in the tin) in a fridge, they will last up one week easily.
Our original thought was to season these artichokes – you could do this (for example by adding chopped basil, salt, pepper), but in our opinion, they are good as they are straight from the tin.
Use to make artichoke salad, blend the artichokes to make a spread for bruschetta, chop and add to pasta …
Approx 13 baby artichokes per tin.
Ingredients
Artichokes, sunflower oil, wine vinegar (sulphites), sugar, salt, acidity regulator (citric acid), herbs and spices, antioxidant (ascorbic acid).
