About this product
Each year we feature a limited number of our delicious artisanal Italian Easter Colomba cakes, so called because of their dove like shape and traditionally enjoyed in Italy over the Easter weekend.
Good Food Network Tasting Notes! These are superb! A pleasant yeasty and sweet aroma when we unwrapped it, very moist texture, great flavour, the small pieces of candied oranges and icing sugar are a delight, just delicious!
Colomba is served at the end of the meal with coffee (or sometimes vinsanto – sweet white wine) and just makes for a very convivial moment.
Our Colomba Cakes are prepared for us by Gilber, a reputed artisanal producer based in Turin.
Colomba Easter Cakes make beautiful gourmet gifts and are something a little different! The outside is wrapped in gift wrap and a ribbon – and the inside (see photo) is in the shape of a dove (more or less!).
Ingredients
WHEAT flour, candied orange peel, BUTTER (MILK), fresh EGG yolk, sugar, HAZELNUTS, frosting, natural leavening, sugar syrup, ALMONDS. Emulsifier.
May contain traces of PEANUTS, SOYA, PISTACHIOS, MUSTARD.
